Positive and Negative space

I really like the idea just using a circle and color to create the object. This idea comes from positive and negative space. The artist add some circle to make the positive space even pop up than just using the white space.

This image caught my eye while perusing for some new backgrounds for my phone. I like how the "paint" is wrapping around him. The way the digital graphics interact with the actual image is amazing.

UB Micro

The University of Buffalo has really cheap adobe packages. I got the CS4 creative suite last year for just over $300. It's usually $1500. All you have to do is be a SUNY student... good news, we are.

This is so cool!

This is an absolutely stunning project by the creative studio Dentsu and biochemist/photographer Linden Gledhill. It is an exploration of sound, color, and shape, in which they place paint on a membrane atop a speaker surface and play music. The shapes and colors that are formed by the sound vibrations and captured by the high speed cameras are absolutely incredible. This is a wonderful example of modern technology combined with traditional media to create beautiful art. Seriously, check the video out, it is an insightful look at their art-making process and the imagery is mind-blowingly good.

Nature Factory Installation @ Diesel Denim Gallery

diesel nature installation 2 Nature Factory Installation @ Diesel Denim Gallery

Talking about the umbrella installations at the end of class on wednesday inspired me to research more types of installations. This indoor clothing store is also a nature installation depicting trees developed from white pipes for branches spreading through the store.
I mostly do portraits so I find this pretty cool, lots of emotion..

Abstract Photography

I found this while i was on the internet. I think it's so powerful and the shadowing on the wall and lighting is amazing.

New Outlook on Recycling

While looking through a t-shirt company's designs, I came across this that gave a different thought to recycling. Not only is recycling done by people with plastics, paper, and glass, but animals also recycle objects. This image depicts a different use of recycling not usually thought of.

This shirt can be found at: http://www.goodjoe.com/Contests/Design.aspx?id=ad56d391-bc17-485a-9485-2b2a4263f9bc#

Brokerfish

This is a piece created by my friend(Yuka Takahashi) I really like the fish flowing in the clear water. She used photo shop to created the water and use the illustrator to created the fish. But these two comvine togather very well. Also I can fell the movement of the fish.

Portraits in Depth Melania in Green

I found this artists work very interesting because he uses all different textures over the women in his pieces. It almost transformes them into something that is no longer human. In this piece she appears scaly and reptilian yet her hair looks like it is made out of something more man made.

Nas Chompas

This is a piece by the artist Nas Chompas. He has a lot of interesting work, but this piece stood out to me especially because of its strange subject matter and bold use of color. This piece holds my attention because I am trying to figure out what is going on. At the same time, it is visually interesting and I really enjoy the contrast of the black and gray with the bright colors.
Christo and Jeanne-Claude are artist that do installation. From what i have seen from there work it's a go big or go home since they use the landscape as there canvas and they make sure the landscape it big. They do other installations than umbrella's i believe they did the chinese gates with clothes hanging down in NYC park and it's just amazing how they can imagine this kind of work
