Just surfing the web and i come to this image and i find it very unique how they can make a frog look like an orange peel. This kind of helps me get into the mind set of representations of the object that we are doing for the project. So if your stuck just try to thing of random things that you can change your item into or surf the web and get ideas that you can make your own.

Love them !

There is this place called No Pattern, they do all kinds of things from clothing, to billboards, to logos for different companies, numerous ads. I love the work they produce, all of it has so much movement and energy. Some more subtle then others but throughout anything the produce there is always that constant movement through out the piece, and it really makes you look at it. The colors that are chosen balance out the pieces so well, right now I'm talking general but here are a few pieces of my favorite, and you can look yourself on their website http://www.nopattern.com/nopattern/

Click the image to view the rest of the billboard project and read the description

Adobe Advertisement

While listening to Pandora an advertisement for Adobe Creative Suite 5 popped up and really caught my attention. There is a lot going on throughout the piece, but in a way it continues your eye moving around the entire advertisement. Let me know what you think :)

This site is wonderful. You can make your own photo books, cook books, collection of literature, whatever you want and this site also lets you look at other people's collections. Last fall, I went to Europe for 10 days to visit friends, and I made a book about it with this site. It came out great, and it's not that expensive, free to download the program, you just have to pay for the printing of the book. It may be time consuming, but very simple and fun. You can also use this site for a portfolio, it would be pretty interesting to make a book of all your art work.

Typography

Typography is an area of interest to me. I enjoy the way this composition uses strong diagonal lines in both directions. The use of type in this poster, allows me to see different ways of design with different aspects. It isnt all the "norm" and really makes the viewer work to see everything in the composition.

Seeing Spots

I enjoy working with simple shapes to creat interesting patterns and designs. This piece caught my eye because it uses only circles yet it is able to lead you through the entire piece and keep your attention. I also enjoy the color choice, blues and greens are my favorite colors to work with. It is a very simple design but I find it very interesting to look at.

Yellow Canoe

This is an interview with artist Erin Lang Norris. I personally love mixing different mediums and using handmade elements in my design, and I find her work really inspiring. Whenever I feel like my work is getting too mechanical or computer driven, I look to pieces like hers to refresh my creativity. In the interview she offers some interesting insight into her art-making process as well as her personal design company, Yellow Canoe.
