Interesting.

I lust love this image. The use of a drippy medium was a great choice and the little hints of color are outstanding.

This composition interests me because of its original idea. The way the designer took the space he was given to construct this instillation makes it even more successful.

I thought this was a really neat design because you get that it's a clock but it makes you think.

You wouldn't think that all the numbers like up where they should be but it you take a closer look they actually are. I think it's just really cool to look at.

This is a silkscreen by the artist, LeRoy Neiman. I love the colors, I think it shows a great amount of movement throughout the whole piece.

This image is created well through type, design, and the smudged colors that were used. It gives off a freaky feel when I look at it. Good image since Halloween is Sunday. For other images like this go to the site at the bottom of the post.

Mind Illusions

This mind illusion, I feel is very well designed. No matter where you look, the composition keeps pulling the viewers attention because our mind is visually seeing the other areas moving even though they are stationary on the page. I have always been fascinated with these types of things and believe that they are well designed.

Daniel Dociu

These illustrations I came across by Daniel Dociu are used mostly in computer games, but looking at these illustrations, the details and the symbolism in some of them. The color that is used and contrast that is used. It almost feels so realistic, and In the computer games give a different feel then when you are just looking at the piece as an individual.

I love the colors that are use through out these..and the different effects that are used to help enhance the aspects. The use of images and vectors together. Emphasizes just enough of each piece.

Graphic Design: Butterfly Fantasy

I liked this design because of the way it has been abstracted but you still know what it is. I also like how the artist used only a couple of colors to create it. I think it makes it simple but still interesting to look at.

Gap logo

So if a logo like gap has worked so well why change it at all. Gap found this out after trying to change the original gap logo to the new one on the right, the switch was done online and buyers had something negative to say about the new design. Sometimes seeing what we always see isn't such a great idea to change since it's a well known logo that people know and see all the time.

ATOM By WHITEvoid

I came across this crazy piece of architecture while looking for sculpture designs. It's basically a "matrix" of many balloons, the balloons are attached to motors that raise and lower the balloons according to the input of the software. There are LED lights attached to each balloon, also allowing the program to light up the balloons according to what the software directs it to do. Coupled with environmental sounds and music it creates a moving artwork that's very visually stimulating. Here's a video.

Positive and Negative space

I really like the idea just using a circle and color to create the object. This idea comes from positive and negative space. The artist add some circle to make the positive space even pop up than just using the white space.

This image caught my eye while perusing for some new backgrounds for my phone. I like how the "paint" is wrapping around him. The way the digital graphics interact with the actual image is amazing.

UB Micro

The University of Buffalo has really cheap adobe packages. I got the CS4 creative suite last year for just over $300. It's usually $1500. All you have to do is be a SUNY student... good news, we are.
